About Mushroom supply & services
Our Start
Mushroom Supply & Services (MSS Inc.) was founded in 2003 by David Iaconi and Jacque Donnell. The concept behind this company was to travel the world and find new and exciting innovations that would help propel the US mushroom industry into the future. Starting only with one product, MSS Inc. has grown and expanded into offering a multitude of mushroom growing supplies, equipment, and consulting services. This has been made possible through our partnerships with many different companies abroad, giving us the ability to bring this technology to our clients and the industry as a whole. |
New Direction
In the last 5 years, there has been a huge increase in small startup/hobby growers of exotic mushrooms across the nation. Mushroom Supply realized this market was in need of a full-service company to supply their growing needs. We have always supplied mushroom spawn (Agaricus) to our local clients for years. With that said, we have recently made a transition into offering a variety of exotic/medicinal mushroom spawns to this new up-and-coming market. We are also involved with large and small growers who want to go to the next level, offering professionally constructed growing rooms with all the necessary equipment to maximize their yields and quality. |

David Iaconi is a third-generation mushroom farmer. He grew up on his grandfather's farm in Hockessin, Delaware. At the age of 18, in 1974, he left the family business and went to work for various mushroom farms in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, known as the "Mushroom Capital of the World." Over the next 25 years, David learned how to grow mushrooms and how to compost which is the substrate needed to grow mushrooms. This experience and knowledge have led to David's ability to help clients in solving all types of challenges in their growing operations and also to consult on the construction and set up of brand new farms.
